Note on Beeswax: Beeswax comes in various types
- Synthetic Beeswax Grade: White and odorless, made from petrochemicals to mimic beeswax.
- Blend of Paraffin and Beeswax: Light yellow with a mild scent, used to reduce costs.
- Pure Beeswax: Dark yellow and strong-smelling, 100% natural.
In the market, most commonly used is a blend of microcrystalline wax and beeswax, which is dark yellow in color. It does not significantly differ from the use of petrochemicals. Therefore, it is recommended to use microcrystalline wax, especially the Thalia grade, which has a better price and does not carry the scent of beeswax. It also has a similar quality and smooth texture. Furthermore, Thalia microcrystalline wax is better at retaining fragrance compared to beeswax and other microcrystalline wax types.
